Tip of the Month: How can I uninstall the Macmillan Education Teacher or Student app and delete the related files on my device /clear cache?

Step 1: Uninstall the app
For Windows Users:
  1. Open 'Apps & Features' inside the settings menu
  2. Search for the app you would like to remove
  3. Click on the app and choose ‘Uninstall’ - you may need admin rights on your account to complete this
  4. Once completed, the app will no longer be found on your device
For Mac Users
  1. Go to the Finder in OS X if you haven’t done so already
  2. Navigate to Applications folder and select the app you want to uninstall
  3. Either drag the application icon to the Trash or right-click and select “Move to Trash”
  4. Right-click on the Trash can and select “Empty Trash”
For IOS Devices:
  1. Start the Settings app
  2. Tap "General," and then tap "iPhone / iPad Storage"  
  3. Scroll down to see the list of apps installed on your iPhone/iPad, arranged in order from largest to smallest.
  4. Tap the app you want to uninstall.
  5. Tap "Delete app" and then confirm you want to delete the app by again tapping "Delete app" on the confirmation window that appears.
For Android devices:
1.  Select the Settings app from your app drawer or home screen.
2.  Tap Apps & Notifications, then select 'See all apps'.
3.  Scroll down the list until you find the app you want to remove and tap it.
4.  Select 'Uninstall'.
If you come across an app that cannot be removed, then simply follow the same instructions as above, just substituting 'Disable' for 'Uninstall' in the final step.

Step 2: Remove Cache by deleting related files
For Windows Users:
  1. Go to the following folder on your device:
C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Roaming \ MacmillanEducationStudent or MacmillanEducationTeacher
*The AppData folder could be hidden, please click on View and select Hidden Items to see the hidden folder.
  1. Delete the ‘MacmillanEducationStudent’ or ‘MacmillanEducationTeacher’ folder

For Mac Users
  1. Go to the following folder on your device:
Click Go > Computer (from the main header menu on your Mac), select the ‘Users’ folder, select ‘Shared’ and Delete the folder with ‘Macmillan Education Teacher’ or ‘Macmillan Education Student’

For IOS Devices:
- Go to Settings > General > iPhone/iPad Storage. Scroll down to the list of apps and tap on one that you want to clear (‘MacmillanEducationStudent’ or ‘MacmillanEducationTeacher’)
- Next, tap 'Delete App'. Tap 'Delete App' again to confirm.

For Android devices:
Open the settings of your phone/tablet. Tap the 'Storage' heading to open its settings page. Tap the 'Other Apps' heading to see a list of your installed apps. Find the application you want to clear the cache of and tap its listing. Tap the 'Clear cache' button.

Step 3: Reinstall the app and download the content again.
Log in to the Macmillan Education Everywhere website with your username and password and download the new installer file.
